Goodies from the farm

Well I don’t know if the Black Rasberries made it all the way home or if you decided to share, but I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how wonderful they were.  For us, they did not make it home.  We passed them around the car and all enjoyed them.  But if they had made it home I would have loved to have done something special with them.  Here are some ideas that I had:

Raspberry Syrup

Something that did make it all the way home were those beautiful tomatoes and onions. Those went into a few recipes.

30-Minute Fresh Tomato Marinara Sauce

I also made salsa.  Which at our house is a staple.  Simple simple simple is our motto.  Tomatoes, onions, cilantro, japalenos, salt

This weeks basket was so exciting because I didn’t feel like I had to think a whole lot to use what we got.  It was just basic ,down home, farm goodies.  The kind of share that you could cut all of it up and eat in a salad.

Lettuce+tomatoes+rasberries+onions+carrots+cauliflower+some vinegarette dressing= Bowl full of yummy summer salad

or

Tomatoes+Zucchini+squash+onions+carrots+cauliflower+crockpot or Instapot+rainy day= Summer Soup

Another easy salad that you might do this summer is:

Tomato Cucumber Salad

Or this Soup:

Hope these help you have new ideas for using some of the great food you recieve from the farm.

Happy Eating,

I am a wife and stay-at-home homeschooling mum of 4. I could sit all day and read cook books and learn new recipes. I love that I get fresh, clean, healthy food delivered each week that we as a family get to incorporate into our diets. We strive to eat very little grain and really limit our processed sugars. The CSA is a HUGE help in this.
